PRE-DATE GROOMING CHECK LIST FOR MEN
Wondering if you are all set for your date? Before you rush out of the house to meet your date, it may do you well to have a quick run through this list.
Wearing the right clothes goes hand in hand with good personal grooming. When dressing for your date remember to stay within the economic range of the date. You may need a jacket for a nice restaurant or. Under dressing will send the wrong message even if it was not intended. In today's highly competitive dating world successful people dress to impress. If you want your date to be attracted to you and take you seriously then you need to present yourself in a manner that is confident, reliable and suitable for a potential partner. Dressing for a date is easy if you keep a few simple tips in mind. Good grooming is essential and good manners will show that you wish to be a stylish person ready to meet the girl of your dreams at any given moment.
Good hair is always a turn-on (just look at Patrick Dempsey). Mix in the come-hither power of pheromones and you have clinically proven sex appeal. Based on what most females think, hair does matter (When you have it, bald is sexy too!) and they do seem to appreciate a guy who makes an effort to style his hair. Shampoo your hair often to keep it healthy and shiny. If you have dandruff, try using a good quality anti-dandruff shampoo when washing your hair.
Nose hair!!! Please make sure that you get rid of these guys. Men should remove any visible hair in the ears and nostrils. This is a major turn off for women; a big one!
The Unibrow!! The best way to handle out-of-control eyebrows is to get laser hair removal. If you can’t afford that at least tweeze or wax. Waxed hairs take longer to grow back and, when they eventually do, they'll grow in thinner and sparser. If pain isn't your game, ask your barber to trim your brows with scissors. (At least this measure will keep you from looking like a Muppet.) Whatever you do, don't shave your brows -- you'll just be asking for unsightly stubble and ingrown hairs.
Clean Ears!! It surprises me that there are a lot of guys out there who never consciously wash their ears. While it’s fun to have your ear being nibbled upon, I would think that it is not as fun to nibble on an unclean ear. Men should remove any visible hair in the ears. Again, laser hair removal is a great invention!
Be Clean!! If possible, have a shower before the date. Have a good shave before you leave the house as well. If shaving strips your skin of its essential oils then splashing on an alcohol based aftershave will only dry out your skin more. Try applying a moisturizer to your skin so It will be soft and smooth. If you wish to keep some facial hair on, that’s cool, but please make sure that you keep them neat. Apply deodorant every morning and put a spare in your car or work place just in case you need it again. If you suffer from Excessive Sweating, technically called hyperhidrosis, an overabundance of perspiration on your armpits and palms often triggered by stressful situations and over-the-counter products don't work, you may need a serious prescription antiperspirant. Drysol is one of the most popular brands. And of course there is Botox TherapeuticTM.
If you're a fan of perfume or aftershaves, spray or splash it on sparingly. Drenching yourself will defeat the purpose. A subtle fragrance is more pleasing to the senses than an overwhelming one.
Fingernails and toenails! Please keep them neat. Fingernails should be clean and neat. Give your nails a good scrub if you have been doing manual work.
Brush your teeth every morning and if you can brush after every meal. You will be able to smile know there is no embarrassing food particles between your teeth. You will have a fresh breath and maintain those pearly white teeth. Use a mouth refresher if necessary.
If you have tattoos or body piercings you should consider whether you should expose them initially. You could always take nose rings, brow rings out while on your date and put them back again in when you get home. If you have a tattoo on the lower part of your arm, stick to long sleeved shirts when on a first date when appropriate. You can always gauge your dates response to your appearance later in a more relaxed setting.
